Siem Reap Trip 2014 - Day 5 - Bye Bye Siem Reap

Our last day in Siem Reap, after our breakfast, we roamed around the swimming pool and garden of the hotel.

They have a jacuzzi pool at one corner of the pool.

Photo taken in the morning, tourists were mostly out sightseeing, by afternoon and night , these seats were taken up quickly by tired tourists who came here to swim and relax.

Near the entrance of the hotel, was the Kasin Lounge, really so sad we dont have time to try the afternoon tea.:(

Soon it was time for us to depart for the airport, the hotel arranged for the hotel's car to send us to the airport. We dont have to pay for the transportation as it was included as part of the hotel package.

After clearing custom, we headed to have lunch before boarding the plane.

My favourite drink vanilla milkshake and hubby's favourite pineapple juice.

Sis and me had the same type of wanton noodles, two bowls but I only took photo of one bowl.

Brother in law had seafood noodle.

Hubby had nasi goreng (fried rice).

French fries for brother in law cause he wanted some to go with his beer.

It was soon Home Sweet Home.

Hope you enjoyed my travel story of Siem Reap.

The starter came in the an elephant stand, so cute. Was some kind of mango salad.

I think this is Onion Soup

Nasi Goreng with satay

Hot and Spicy Soup

Sirlion Steak

Pork Chop

Rice with Khmer Curry

Fruit Punch - tasted so good

Siem Reap Trip 2014 - Quad Bike Experience - Sunset Tour

After a good rest in the hotel, we decided to go for the quad bike adventure to watch sun set in the country side.

We booked the tour from the hotel's tour desk, the quad bike's company will pick us up from the hotel, we only pay when we reach the Quad Bike's company.

They have many tours but we prefer a shorter tour for the quad bike adventure and the sunset tour looks very interesting. It costs US$30 for one rider and US$40 for two riders on one quad bike. The whole tour is about one hour but cause we rode quite slowly, it took us about one and half hour.

The bike looked huge (quite different from the bike we rode in Jeju Island, South Korea), but there will be familar course conducted by the tour guide (he is also the tuk tuk driver who picked us up from the hotel, he had two jobs, day as a guide with the bike company and at night he will drive his tuk tuk in the city to pick passengers).

But first we need to sign the indemnity form to wavie them from any responsibility incase of an accident.

After putting on our helmets and face masks, the adventure begins, we rode to the main road towards the country side.

I was so excited and so scared too cause the road were those off beaten path and full of potholes and the recent rain filled these potholes with water, there's no way to divert from the potholes but to ride over them and it was so bumpy, and we were splashed with all the dirty muddy water. But after a while, the whole ride was so fun and filled with excitement.

That's hubby and me, photo taken by my sister who was riding behind us with her hubby. Hahaha cannot imagine the four of us with a total age of over 200 years to have such great bike adventure in Siem Reap.

Along the way we could see the villages and lots of cows, buffalos, stray dogs and were extremely careful not to knock down any of the village childen running and playing around.

We get to have two stops, the first stop was a padi field where we took many photos, and to rest cause the rider's thumb might get cramped or sore from holding onto the accelerator of the bike during the whole ride. So if you are a starter for this type of bike, do opt for the short tour first.

The path that was so muddy and narrow, we get to stop here too to watch the sun setting. We were so lucky the earlier heavy rain stopped otherwise we wont get to see the sun setting.

Another group of bikers opposite us watching the sun set too.

Did some candid shots at trying to catch the sun with my fingers.

After watching the sunsetting, we hurried back cause the sky will be dark very soon and very dangerous for us to ride back cause there's no street lights to guide us, only the lights on our bike.

Some blur photos of cows walking into our path when we rode past. Was too scary to focus on the animals hahaha.

Some videos of our bike adventures.

The tour guide rode ahead of us and guide us in our quad bike adventure, really very good and patient. He even carry a bag with him that contain some raincoats incase it rain.

At first, I was quite scare with the ride cause there were many cows, buffalos that would just crossed our path but later really enjoyed the adventure.

Sun setting and we really rode over these narrow and muddy path.

The whole quad bike adventure was awesome and fun, highly recommend you to try. If you do not have the confidence to ride, get someone to ride for you, the guide can ride with you too.

NOTE: Please take note of the dress code as per the brochures.
