PLEASE ASK PERMISSION BEFORE YOU RE POST MY PHOTOS ON TO YOUR BLOG. THERE ARE SOME BLOGGERS WHO DID NOT ASK MY PERMISSION AND REPOST MY PHOTOS WITHOUT THE COURTESY OF LINKING BACK TO MY BLOG. THIS IS LIKE STEALING. PEOPLE, I HAVE SPEND MUCH TIME TAKING PHOTOS AND DOING HOMEWORK ON MY TRAVELLING INFORMATION AND KINDLY SHARE THESE INFORMATION TO ANYONE INTERESTED IN THEM. IF NECESSARY I WILL POST SCREEN SHOT OF YOUR BLOG TO SHOW YOUR BAD MANNERS OF STEALING MY PHOTOS. THE MOST DISGUSTING THING THEY DID WAS TO SCREEN SHOT MY PHOTO AND CORP OFF MY BLOG TITLE AND REPOST IN THEIR BLOG.

Shamian Island looked like a very beautiful park filled with various and beautiful statues. I had a great time going round taking photos of the numerous statues hahaha. The statues shows the daily life on the island from the past to recent.

These three statues of women represent women in China. How the dresses changes from generation to generation. From traditional clothings covered most part of the body to cheongsum to modern dressing covering lesser part of the body.

Because of the colonial past on this island, there are many statues which shows western influence.

Traditional games played in the past as shown in these statues.

Statues showing the past where Chinese businessman doing business with a western businessman.

Vendor selling candy to kids

One statue wearing chinese traditional clothes while the other statue is that of a western lady wearing western clothes.

Are these statues put up recently?

  2. Can read the history of Shamian Island. Shamian Island was temporary occupied by western forces during the Qing Dyansty.

The statues were there to show about the colonial past link to the island. Not sure when they erected.
