Ipoh Trip - Kellie's Castle

Our last destination of our four hours sightseeing in Ipoh is Kellie's Castle.

Need to pay RM5.00 for the admission to the castle.

The unfinished, ruined mansion, was built by a Scottish planter named William Kellie Smith. According to differing accounts, it was either a gift for his wife or a home for his son. Unfortunately for Smith, tragedies struck soon after the construction of the Kellas House began. A virulent strain of the Spanish flu spread from Europe to Asia soon after World War I ended in Europe, killing many of the workers in the Kellas Estate. Another seventy workers constructing Smith's dream castle also became victims of the flu. Smith, who had already spent a fortune on his house, lost a lot of money because of this. In the end, Kellas House, later known as Kellie's Folly or Kellie's Castle, was sold to a British company called Harrisons and Crosfield. You can read the full story from source.

It really looked very spooky here and was very windy and I thought I heard something from the top floor. Yikes! Hubby said was the wind that blew something that dropped on the floor lol. Anyway, as I was taking photos of the top floor, I cannot stop imagining someone or something will pop out of the window, guess I watch too much horror movies lol.

The stairs lead to the wine cellar in the basement, you can bet I did not ventured down the stairs hahaha.

It was believed that the spirit of William Kellie Smith was still wandering along the long quiet corridor.

It was really quiet in the empty castle except for the lone sparrow that kept chirping.

The car park at the bottom of the castle, can you spot the red cab (circled) in the above photo? Was the cab that brought us round Ipoh sightseeing, thank you Mr. Cab Driver for bringing us around Ipoh and also thank you for your friendly smile and always being so humourous.

A short video of Kellie's castle and its surrounding area.

IF NECESSARY I WILL POST SCREEN SHOT OF YOUR BLOG TO SHOW YOUR BAD MANNERS OF STEALING MY PHOTOS.

THE MOST DISGUSTING THING THEY DID WAS TO SCREEN SHOT MY PHOTO AND CORP OFF MY BLOG TITLE AND REPOST IN THEIR BLOGS AS THEIR OWN.
