PLEASE ASK PERMISSION BEFORE YOU RE POST MY PHOTOS ON TO YOUR BLOG. THERE ARE SOME BLOGGERS WHO DID NOT ASK MY PERMISSION AND REPOST MY PHOTOS WITHOUT THE COURTESY OF LINKING BACK TO MY BLOG. THIS IS LIKE STEALING.
PEOPLE, I HAVE SPEND MUCH TIME TAKING PHOTOS AND DOING HOMEWORK ON MY TRAVELLING INFORMATION AND KINDLY SHARE THESE INFORMATION TO ANYONE INTERESTED IN THEM.
IF NECESSARY I WILL POST SCREEN SHOT OF YOUR BLOG TO SHOW YOUR BAD MANNERS OF STEALING MY PHOTOS.
THE MOST DISGUSTING THING THEY DID WAS TO SCREEN SHOT MY PHOTO AND CORP OFF MY BLOG TITLE AND REPOST IN THEIR BLOG.
Hubby and me decided to make a trip north to Malaysia. Been a long time since we visited Ipoh, think the last time I visited Ipoh must be when I was a child around 10 years old hahaha a long time. Although there's a direct coach from Singapore to Ipoh but the 10 hours journey put me off so we decided to break the journey and do something different. We decided to fly to Kuala Lumpur and then tried out the ETS (electric train service)not the KTM old diesel train to Ipoh. ETS will takes about 2 hrs (Platinum), 2 hrs 15 mins (Gold) and 2 hrs 30 mins (Silver) to reach Ipoh from Kuala Lumpur Sentral. The KTM will take longer, I think is more than 3 hrs.
Booking Tiger Airways via the internet is so easy, we choose our time and date we wanted and print out the confirmation itinenary. Cost about S$90 per adult for both ways SIN/KL/SIN.
Took less than an hour to reach Kuala Lumpur Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) from Singapore Changi Airport. After clearing the immigration custom, we walked out to the arrival hall and saw this KLIA booth and decided to purchase the tickets for the KLIA Express train to bring us to KL Sentral to catch the ETS train to Ipoh. This counter nearer to the escalator might not have any people manning the counter but not to worry, just walked a few more steps, you can see another counter of KLIA ie. still within the arrival hall.
There are a few counters near the exit of the arrival hall, two counters selling tickets for coach direct to Ipoh which take 3 hrs, another counter selling tickets to Genting highland, another selling tickets for bus direct to KL Sentral (takes about 1 and half hour journey) and of course the KLIA counter which sells the combined shuttle bus/fast train to KL Sentral. As we are now in LCCT (low cost carrier terminal), we need to take the shuttle bus to Samak Tinngi express train station (it is one station away from KL International Airport) but if you are in KL International Airport, you dont have to take the shuttle bus, you can board the fast train directly from the train station in the international airport.
The tickets for the shuttle bus from LCCT to Samak Tinggi, you have to show the tickets to the bus driver or his assistant at the bus bay. We bought only one way cause we were unsure if we wanted to return to LCCT the same way but eventually we did return to the LCCT the same way.
It is easy to spot the bus, it is purple in colour with the logo KLIA on the side of the bus.
The bus bay for KLIA is just opposite Coffee Bean Restuarant. You can also take taxies or buses to KL Sentral but I think the KLIA shuttle/bus is fastest except the waiting time is killing me lol. If you happen to miss the earlier bus, you need to wait for another 15 to 20 mins for the next bus. The journey from LCCT to Samak Tinggi Train Station is only 15 mins. Just hand the shuttle bus tickets to the person incharge sitting beside the bus bay.
On reaching Samak Tinggi, slot the ticket of KLIA through the gate and followed the signs to board the train to KL Sentral.
You can see the various express train stations in the above photo, with the international airport at one end and KL Sentral at the other end.
I was so excited as this was the first time I was travelling to KL city via the fast train lol. Glad we did some homework before arriving.
You need to press the red button to open the doors of the trains, the door dont open by itself.
The journey from Samak Tinggi to KL Sentral is less than 25 mins. A very pleasant and comfortable ride. Next post is how to buy the tickets of ETS to Ipoh.
NOTE: Special thanks to JC of Subangdailyphoto.blogspot for her guidance in teaching me step by step on how to link my photos from another photo album to this blog. Thank you so much JC>
