After visiting Cheonggyecheon Stream, we continued our walk to Gwanghwamun Square. The square was where the famous King Sejong's(labelled B in the below photo) and Admiral Yi Sun Shin's (labelled A in below photo) Statues were located. In the background was beautiful scenery of Gyeongbokgung Palace(labelled C in below photo) and Bukaksan Mountain.
Yi Sun-shin (April 28, 1545 – December 16, 1598) was a Korean naval commander, famed for his victories against the Japanese navy during the Imjin war in the Joseon Dynasty, and is well-respected for his exemplary conduct on and off the battlefield not only by Koreans, but by Japanese Admirals as well. The King Sejong Statue was erected at the center of Gwanghawmun Square on Hangeul Day (October 9) of 2009. Sitting with a gentle smile on his face and a book in his hand, the bronze statue of 9.5m in height celebrates the King and his great achievements.
King Sejong, the 4th king of the Joseon Dynasty (1397-1450, reigning from 1418-1450) was responsible for some of the most brilliant achievements in the history of Korea, including the creation of Hangeul (Korean alphabet) and great advancements in the areas of science, culture, art and politics.

Below the King Sejong's statue is a museum, the admission is free of charge. Do visit it as it is quite interesting with lots of ancient korean exhibits.
The turtle ship in the museum also known as Geobukseon is a replica of the real turtle ship, the real ship is double the size.
The ship was covered by these metal spikes so that enemies cannot board the ship to attack them, this is one of the reason why Admiral Yi Sun Shin won the battle. You can find out more about the turtle ship from

In one corner of the museum is an arts gallery drawn by kids. They were well drawn.
