Staycation No. 4 - Ibis Macpherson Singapore

Our final hotel for our staycation is Ibis Macpherson. The hotel is located along Macpherson Road and only about few mins walk to Mattar MRT Station (Downtown Line). Near the hotel, there are buses to nearby malls and other mrt stations (like Paya Lebar MRT Station and Woodleigh and Serangoon MRT Station)

Inside the hotel room, it looked very clean and bright. The cleaner dont clean the room daily, only on alternate days. Can request for towels, etc There is no bedroom slippers.

I like the fact that the hotel room has a very huge window and the scenery is great.

The wash basin is located outside the bathroom. Remember to collect toothbrushes from the reservation desk on checking in. The bathroom and toilets are separate cubicles.

A mini fridge.

Mineral water not provided but there's an electric flask and empty jar to boil own water. Complimentary coffee and tea in the drawers.

Near the hotel is this coffee shop(eating place) - very convenient to get breakfast, lunch or dinner.

 

Staycation No. 3 - Hotel Royal at Novena Singapore

My third staycation  hotel is at Hotel Royal which is located near Novena MRT Station. 

There's lots of shopping and eateries in Novena area. 

It is a very old hotel. For those travelling to Singapore who do not mind old hotel, can consider this hotel which is way cheaper than hotels in Orchard Road. It is about two MRT stations away f rom Orchard Road and only about 10 minutes bus ride to Orchard Road.

The reservation desk is efficient and very fast to check us in and the staff are helpful and friendly.

Located on the ground floor is the 24 hours coffee house called Trishaw Coffee House.  We did not get to eat here as we came back quite late and had dinner in Novena Square.

On Level Two is a Chinese Restaurant.

Our hotel room is located on the high floor and very quiet. We had a good night sleep and we couldn't hear any noises along the corridor. Except that the furniture in the room is very dated and old but the room was clean and the room was clean daily. The room is very spacious and big as compared to my previous two staycation hotels.

The bathroom was huge and spacious and they had a bathtub.

At present, there's lot of construction going on in Novena. So walking from the Novena MRT station to Hotel Royal take between 5 to 10 minutes.  

Staycation No. 2 - Ibis Hotel Novena Singapore

The second hotel we stayed for our staycation due to my home renovation was at Ibis Hotel Novena. It is accessible from Novena MRT by walking for about 10 minutes or take a bus opposite the Novena MRT station and alight 3 bus stop away (infront of Zhongsan Mall)

We got a twin bed room and the ceiling is very hight but the wall are not so soundproof, can be quite noisy when room guests returning to their room and talking along the corridor. They dont clean the rooms daily, only on alternate days but can request for bath towels.

The toilet is quite spacious.

They dont provide mineral water bottles. But there is a hot and cold water dispenser near the lift lobby.

 The washing machine is on Level 10 and operated by coins.

Near the hotel are a lot of eateries and there's no problem going to Novena MRT Station by walking or by bus or by taxi. 

Staycation No. 1 - Hotel G at Bencoolen Singapore

Had a staycation at some hotels around Singapore due to home renovation. Didnt really have time to enjoy the hotel's facilities as we had to go to work or go back home to supervise the home renovation.

Chance upon Hotel G in Agoda Website. So easy to book with just the mobile phone and instant confirmation. Not the first time that I booked through Agoda but was the first time I booked hotels in Singapore hahaha. I used to book hotels overseas. This is the first time, I am staying in hotels around Singapore.

Hotel G was quite nice and hip. Never realise Bencoolen Street is so happening especially at night. 

They had two nice restaurants.

The reception staff were super friendly and young and they were very attentive to we two senior citizens. Well Done. 

The room was rather small but was alright for us as we only come back quite late at night and left in the morning. The only thing I dislike was the feather decoration above the bed, was worried it might dropped on us hahaha.

The sink is outside the toilet.

The bathroom has a toilet and shower not bathtub. Actually, I really like shower instead of bathtub especially hubby and me are senior citizen. We would trip and fall in bathtub.

Very nice to have the slippers and hair dryers in these cool bags.

The small area where there is free coffee and tea and a flask. The mineral water looked like milk carton. They only gave mineral water on day one, I guess we could request for more on subsequent days. The hotel only clean every alternate days but we could request for towels from the reception.

I like the hotel, cozy and had a good night sleep. Will book again, if I need a place to staycation in future.
