Day 4 night, was supposed to go for dinner at the famous Ichiran Ramen (1st restaurant in Fukuoka, Japan). But I received a very bad news that my hubby's brother was terminal ill and very seriously ill.
I was supposed to stay 6 nights in Fukuoka and 3 nights in Seoul but I only stayed for 4 nights in Fukuoka.
As hubby and me were both senior folks, we were clumsy in changing our air tickets in our handphone. So we just hurried to Fukuoka Internationa Airport. Luckily there were Asiana Airlines Staff still at the counter checking in passengers for the last flight out of Fukuoka.
As I purchased my air ticket from Asiana Airlines website, I could change my air ticket with them. If bought from travel agent, we need go back to travel agent for assistance.
Luckily they managed to get seats for us to return to Singapore the next morning. Of course we need pay for the administrative fees for changing of air tickets was about S$200+ per person.
Managed to take couple photos of the christmas trees at Fukuoka Train Station after returning from the airport. Heart very heavy and sad. Quickly packed our luggages and sleep well to return to Singapore next day.
We explained to the hotel staff that we need to cut short our trip but there's will not be any compensation for unused two nights that I cancelled. The hotel staff were very helpful and help us booked a taxi to the airport.
Took the 1st flight out of Fukuoka by Asiana Airlines. We need to transit in Seoul. Though the flight is only 1 hour flight, they served us meal. It was Chicken Katsu with fried rice. It was really delicious.
We need to transfer at Seoul Incheon Airport, very easy to transfer, just follow the green signs that read TRANSFER.
We need killed time during transit, so had some coffee and bread and the cozy cafe in the transit area.
Finally, we boarded the plane to return to Singapore.
The dinner meal was delicious, was some chicken and rice.
1 hour before landing in Singapore, we were serve Pizza. The pizza was steaming hot, the pizza was really good.
At last, we landed in Singapore and headed straight to visit hubby's brother in hospital. Sadly 4 days later, he passed away.
We managed to claim all unused hotel charges and airlines administrative charges from the travel insurance company.
The payment was fast once all documents are send to the travel company but they really need a lot of supporting documents.
Was glad that Agoda help us with all the hotel documents to prove that we did not utilize the few nights that we left Japan and Korea.
Hope to visit Kyushu again to complete my journey again.
