Greece trip 2025 - Day 2 - Radisson Blu Park Hotel, Athens

Our first hotel stay is at Radisson Blu Park Hotel in Athens, is very clean and cozy hotel.

We had complimentary mineral water and there's electric kettle, some free coffee and tea bags. There's bedroom slipper and hair dryer too.

Although they had some toiletries but they do not provide any toothbrush or toothpaste, need bring your own. We just use the free amenities kit we got from Qatar Airways.

Yes, is true in most public toilets and hotel toilets, etc, we cant flush toilet paper, need throw in the bin next to the toilet bowl. This is due to the    design of the sewage pipe being too narrow and easily clogged by toilet paper.

After a long day and two flights, we were so tired to go out to look for dinner. Decided to just head to the roof top restaurant of the hotel where we stay.

It comes with bread served with olive oil and marinated olives.

After dinner, we head back to wash up and sleep. Had a really long day since boarding the flight (12 hours with 2 hours transit).

Greece Trip 2025 - Day 2 - Athens - Panathenaic Stadium and Acropolis

Panathenaic Stadium

Originally, since the 6th century BC, a racecourse stood at the site. It hosted the Panathenaic Games (also known as the Great Panathenaea), a religious and athletic festival celebrated every four years in honour of the goddess Athena. The racecourse had no formal seating and the spectators sat on the natural slopes on the side of the ravine. (source)

Our first sightseeing on landing Athens, we visited the Panathenaic Stadium.

Next, we visited Plaka shopping street for some shopping and late lunch or snack. One of the oldest neighbourhood of the city of Athens.

As we were not very hungry, ate so many meals in the two flights of Qatar Airways hahaha, so we just had some ice cream. 

Also we bought some nuts and snacks from the vendor (similar to our local Kachang Puteh Man)

After spending some time in Plaka Shopping Street, we just walked to the next destination that is nearby.

Acropolis of Athens, located on a rocky hill, lots of pebbles around, need good walking shoes for all the walking and climbing. Even though is quite a good climb, we were able to climb without any problems as we rest few times listening to the local guide explanation of the history.

The arena looked so impressive.

Greece Trip 2025 - Day 1 and Day 2 Taking Qatar Airways from Singapore to Athens, Greece transit in Doha Airport

I just travelled to Greece, I had so much fun and relaxing time in Greece. Greece is a very beautiful place. Wish I had travelled there earlier. I enjoyed myself so much.

Took a red eye flight by Qatar Airways to Athens transit in Doha.

The seats are quite spacious.

Free wifi on board. The flight time from Singapore to Doha Airport is seven and half hours.

Free amenities

The kit consist of eye mask, ear plugs, toothbrush and tooth paste, socks.  The toothbrush and toothpaste comes handy, use it during our transit in Doha Airport.

When the plane departed Singapore, we were served late supper some hot buns and cakes.

Two hours before touch down to Doha, we were served with choice of nasi lemak and pan cakes. The nasi lemak tasted good.

On arrival in Doha Airport, we looked at the screen for the connecting gate for our next flight to Athens.

Doha Airport looked like our Changi Airport.

As we had some time before taking the next flight, we took the sky train to the next terminal to look for the yellow bear.

The sky train take less than 10 mins to arrive in the next terminal.

Saw the yellow bear.

We then board the next Qatar Airway flight to Athens.

After departing Doha Airport, I spotted Pearl Island, it looked so beautiful from the sky.

We were served lunch or breakfast (time difference)

Choice of steamed egg with wedged potatoes or pie.

After four and half hour, we finally arrived in Athens from Doha Airport. No, we did not have any jet lag. Wonderful flight.

Loved how the plane cast a shadow on the ground.
