Malaysia - Penang - Kek Lok Si Temple Part 1

THIS IS LIKE STEALING. PEOPLE, I HAVE SPEND MUCH TIME TAKING PHOTOS AND DOING HOMEWORK ON MY TRAVELLING INFORMATION AND KINDLY SHARE THESE INFORMATION TO ANYONE INTERESTED IN THEM. IF NECESSARY I WILL POST SCREEN SHOT OF YOUR BLOG TO SHOW YOUR BAD MANNERS OF STEALING MY PHOTOS. THE MOST DISGUSTING THING THEY DID WAS TO SCREEN SHOT MY PHOTO AND CORP OFF MY BLOG TITLE FROM MY PHOTO AND REPOST THEM IN THEIR BLOG.

We took Bus No. 203 from Komtar to Kek Lok Si Temple. The journey took us about 30 minutes.

And soon it began to rain very heavily when we were in the bus.

I think we were very lucky that the rain stopped once we reached our destination. As usual we requested the driver to let us know when we reached our destination.

We could see the tall Goddess of Mercy and Kek Lok Si Temple when we alighted from the bus.

The bus stop is near this temple. Surprised to see a familar name on the top of the entrance of the temple.

The name Aw Boon Haw Par was very familar. The gateway was erected in 1931, a gift from philanthropist brothers Aw Boon Haw and Aw Boon Par. We have a Har Par villa in Singapore that was built by the Aw Boon Haw and Aw Boon Par.

From the temple, we just walked straight to the Kek Lok Si Temple where we could we some shops at the far end of the road. We had to walk through rows of shops and climb the steps to the top of the hill where the Kek Lok Si Temple is located.

Wondered why the place looked so deserted and many shops not open. Could be that they open only on weekend or peak season. I have no idea.

The climb up the hill is not that bad, only 2 flights of the steps are steep only.

There's a vegetarian restaurant somewhere mid hill. Once you passed the restaurant, you can see the Kek Lok Si Temple.
