Day 6 - Athens to Mykonos Island - Transport strike in Greece, shopping in Plaka

Port Tower Hotel - the hotel that we stayed is near the port so that we could take the 6 am ferry to Mykonos Island but unfortunately, there's a transport strike in Greece on the very same day. Transport involved in the strike were public transport, trains including ships and ferries.

OMG of all the day, not sure if it is a blessing or what. The 6 am ferry we supposed to take would take 3 and half hours to reach from Athens to Mykonos Island. But luckily all hope not lost, our travel agent managed secure the 10 pm ship to ferry us to Mykonos Island. The strike only last one day. The 10 pm ship is a very huge ship and only takes  2 hours to reach from Athens to Mykonos Island. At least we still get to go to Mykonos Island otherwise I think I will cry if we missed the island  trip hahaha.

Well we had the whole day free so the best thing was to go shopping.
We found a large ZARA shop next to our hotel, my sister and me bought the same design jacket hahaha.
After a happy shopping, we rest our feet at a nearby cafe and ordered a huge croissant to share as we already had a full buffet breakfast.

Very relaxing day and happy shopping. I love this kind of trip, just sit by the roadside and watch the world goes by as we sipped our coffee.

We then walked around the market near our hotel.

A church nearby.
Soon, we need to check out of our hotel at 1.30 pm and headed to Plaka for our second round of shopping. We found a chinese restaurant at a street next to Emou Street right in the centre of the shopping street. (See above photo - circled in red)
Right infront of the chinese restaurant are many chinese lanterns, so is easily recognized.
We were so happy to have some chinese food after so many days away from our home country.
Omelette
Kung Pao Chicken
Stir fry bok choy
Sweet and sour pork
The food were tasty and not  salty. Very happy with the lunch.
So next best thing was some sightseeing around Plaka and shopping (where many big brands like Hard Rock Cafe, H&M, etc were found)
Saw this lovely church in Plaka. Church of Kapnikarea

Shopped till in the night 7 pm.
View of Acropolis from the street in Plaka.
Then we started our journey to the port to queue to take the ship to Mykonos Island.
The huge ship that could about 800 passengers.
I thought I would feel sea sick in the big ship but all good, I actually fall asleep in the ship. We reached Mykonos Island hotel about 1.30 am.
