City Square Mall Johor Bahru

After dinner, went back to City Square Mall for last minute shopping before heading back to Singapore.

The price at Seoul Garden and some other restaurants in JB looked so attractive, same price as Singapore but in different currency. Of course we find it so cheap to dine in JB. :)

After clearing the custom in JB, we headed to the bus bay to take either the causeway link buses or Singapore buses, we just take the first available buses cause we were so tired from all the walking.

Dinner at Jalan Meldrum, Johor Bahru

Read so many reviews about the street hawkers along Jalan Meldrum, a small alley just beside City Square Mall, Johor Bahru. It is easy to find, just exit City Square Mall facing Jalan Wong Ah Fook and turn to the left of the mall and you can spot the road with the red roof over the road.

The hawkers are hidden behind the building in the small alley.

Very interesting to see the different type of food sold by different hawkers. We decided to have our dinner here.

Coconut Drink and Chendol

Grilled tau pok (dried sponge tofu) with roasted nuts and cucumbers, etc

Chicken and mutton satay

Fried Kway Teow - a terrible choice on this, it tasted terrible or maybe we were not used to this dish

Goreng (Fried) Mee Hoon

Rendang Chicken Rice

Worth shopping in here, prices definitely cheaper

Day Trip to Johor Bahru - Taking Shuttle Bus from JB Sentral to KSL City

After clearing the custom, just follow the signs leading to JB Sentral, I think after one bridge crossing, looked out for this signboard and the escalator on the left. To head to City Square Mall just walk straight ahead(no need to take any shuttle bus) but as we planned to visit KSL City Mall first, we need to take the shuttle bus from the bus terminal below the custom.

From the top of the escalator, we could see the bus terminal, so we walked towards the bus terminal.

There are many buses going to different parts of Johor Bahru and other malls.

To go to KSL City Mall, we need to take S1 shuttle bus.

The bus fare from JB Sentral to KSL City Mall is RM1.50, need to have exact fare to drop into the coin box beside the driver, cause the driver will not return any change.

Dont worry about missing the mall, the bus will terminate at this mall for about 20 minutes before heading back to JB Sentral.

You can take note of the bus timing to plan your return journey from KSL City Mall back to JB Sentral. The place where you alight is the same place where you take the bus back to JB Sentral.

You can also take BUS IM17 by Maju Bus Company to KSL Mall from JB Sentral, read about it from my another post.

Day Trip to Johor Bahru Malaysia - How to go to Johor Bahru from Kranji MRT Station Singapore

Yesterday, I decided to pop over to Johor Bahru for a day shopping trip. The last time I went to JB for a shopping trip, I took a bus from Queens Street via Causeway Link Bus CW2. You can view the previous trip in my previous post.

This time round, I decided to take the bus from Kranji MRT Station.

The bus stop is just infront of Kranji MRT Station, we can take either Bus 170 or CW 1 to Johor Bahru. Either bus is fine with us. We took Bus 170 which arrived first, the fare is distance based cause we took the MRT Train earlier as for CW1 I think the fare is about S$0.90.

It took about ten minutes only from Kranji MRT Station to Woodlands Checkpoint. We had to alight from the bus and tap our EZ Link Card on the bus scanner, it show the bus ride suspended (means no fare deducted cause of the distance based fare from our earlier MRT Ride).

After clearing the custom at Woodlands Checkpoint, we made our way down to the bus bay and this time we could take either bus 170 or bus 160 but not the Causeway Link Bus (CW1 or CW2) and vice versa cause both are from the different bus companies, to head to Malaysia Checkpoint in Johor Bahru. On boarding the bus, we need to tap our EZ Link Card again and on arrival at the Malaysia Checkpoint, we had to tap our EZ link card again in the bus before alighting and again it shows bus ride suspended.

After clearing the custom at the Malayia Checkpoint, we just followed the signboard to head to JB Sentral (followed the red arrow in the above photo).
