Siem Reap Trip 2014 - Day 3 - Lunch at The Red Piano and Shopping at PUB Street

After all the walking, we decided to rest and lunch at The Red Piano. Yes, they really had a red piano upstairs in the restaurant. They have free wifi, just ask the staff for the password.

Love the two red "men" stands for the lights at the entrance.

The red piano at the corner with another red "man".

The Red Piano was made famous because the actress, Angelina Jolie, while having break from filming Tomb Raiders, visited the cafe and had the cocktail. Most came here to ask for the very same cocktail that she had.

I regretted not ordering same hahaha, the banana vanilla shake that I ordered tasted awful.

Hubby simply loves deep fried spring roll.

Ordered the red khmer curry.

Sweet and sour pork

Tom Yum Soup

Sis had the western food, think is sirloin steak

It started to rain heavily as we were having lunch but the rain stop as fast as it comes.

So after lunch, we continued our shopping before heading back to the hotel to rest.

Doctor Fish - where you put your feet into the tank and let the fishes eat your dead skin.

Siem Reap Trip 2013 - Day 3 - Street Scenes

Today, we decided to take things easy and just relax and shopping.

But first to check our mails and read the latest news first from the several computers in the Business Centre, we were free to use with unlimited timing.

The ladies's restroom near the business centre is so beautiful. Could hear and see the water features from the vainity corner.

Then decided to stroll from the hotel to PUB Street(the only vibrant place to eat and shop in Siem Reap), think took us more than 30 minutes.

We were curious about the street scenes and the way the locals lived. If not for the hot weather, the walk is nice and interesting.

The river that separates our hotel and old market.

We came across Sihanouk's Villa but was not open to the public.

Locals enjoying their rest along the riverside.

The stone crocodile looked so real.

A street vendor selling fried crickets, geez, no way I am going to try them.

Next post, will be about the RED PIANO.

Siem Reap Trip 2014 - Dinner with show at Kulen II Restaurant

After a whole day of sightseeing, we got our driver to fetch us back to hotel and rest. Not deciding where to take our dinner, our driver was kind enough to suggest that he will fetch us to have dinner and show at Kulen II Restaurant which is about 5 mintues ride from the hotel. So we arrange to meet at the hotel's entrance at 6.30 pm. Was feeling so much better after a good bath and change of clean clothes hahaha and went to meet our driver.

We need to make our way back to the hotel on our own after dinner, as the driver will be off duty.

The restaurant was quite huge and there were lots of people taking dinner, is best to call and make reservation at the restaurant. Our driver did the reservation for us. The price was US$12 per person for the buffet and show.

There were wide range of food in here but they were slow to replenish empty trays. Best to arrive early for dinner.

There were staff manning different stations to cook food on the spot.

Hahaha had a sumptous dinner

Egg drop soup

Curry Chicken

Dessert and fruits

There were about four different dances, were really interesting to watch.

At the end of all the performaces, they allowed guests to go up the stage to take photos with them, no need to pay to have the photos taken.

Some short videos of the performances.

Dance with coconut husks

Cambodian Khmer Traditonal Dance

Fishermen's Dance

Tinikling Dance

After having dinner and watching the performance, we had to take the tuk tuk back to our hotel cause of the sudden heavy downpour of rain, could not make our way to the night market.
