Ipoh/KL Trip 2012 - Bye Bye Malaysia

Finally we made our way to the LCCT (low cost carrier terminal), but first we need to take the monorail to KL Sentral from Imbi Monorail Station.

Upon arriving at KL Sentral, we just followed the arrow on the floor to locate the KLIA Transit Ticket Office to get the tickets to board the express train to LCCT. It costs us only RM12.50 but we had to alight at Salak Tinggi Train Station to board the shuttle bus to LCCT.

To board the KLIA train, we just hop to the station next to the KLIA Ticket Office, everything is smooth sailing.

After arriving at Salak Tinggi Train Station, we just followed the signs in the station to board the shuttle bus to LCCT.

Finally after 15 minutes, we arrived at LCCT, there were so many restaurants and eateries that we had our dinner first cause our plane would depart around 8.20 pm only.

After clearing custom and security check, we did some last minutes shopping on titbits and snacks at the many shops in there.

Finally home sweet home after only 1 hour of plane ride from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore. We enjoyed so much on this trip, from starting with the plane, KLIA train, ETS Train, sightseeing and dining, etc. Would make often visits to Malaysia again.

Kuala Lumpur Trip - Bukit Bintang

After lunch, we decided to head to Bukit Bintang and have a look at the many malls there.

Opposite Berjaya Times Square is the country premier IT complex - Plaza Low Yat.

Outside Plaza Low Yat is a flea market selling mostly local products and clothings.

Bukit Bintang Monorail Station.

Lots of shopping malls in Bukit Bintang, new ones coming up and old ones being rebuilt or renovate, this is just like Singapore's Orchard Road.

But I prefer to browse through the street stalls and see the stuff and food they sell.

Lots of construction going on in Bukit Bintang now, they are building the MRT Lines/Stations throughout Kuala Lumpur to alleviate traffic congestion.

Kuala Lumpur Trip - Berjaya Times Square

After checking out of our hotel, we have some time to kill before heading to the airport for our night flight back home to Singapore. We went shopping and dining in Berjaya Times Square. This is not the first time for us to shop in here, you can view my previous trip.

The shopping mall is huge and lots of shops with reasonable prices, we did some last minute shopping in here.

Saw some delicious food in the food court there but we did not have our lunch here.

We had lunch in a small cozy chinese cafe where I had 3 cups of chicken with some side dishes and potato/carrot/chicken soup. Oh my this is so delicious and the soup really good.

Hubby as usual love western food, he had pork chop.

Kuala Lumpur Trip - Paviion Shopping Mall

One of the latest mall to open in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur, it looked so impressive and beautiful but most selling branded stuff.

The three bowls with a fountain coming out of them infront of Pavilion Shopping Mall is the Tallest Liuli Crystal Fountain in Malaysia. The bowl had blooms of hibiscus on them, Hibiscus being the national flower of Malaysia.

In the basement of Pavilion were lots of restaurants and food court where prices were reasonable. This must be my favourite part of the mall.

Kuala Lumpur - Jalan Alor Malaysian Food Street

After resting in the hotel for a while, we headed to Jalan Alor for our dinner. Jalan Alor is located in the Bukit Bintang Area. It is just opposite Royal Bintang Hotel (We stayed in this hotel during our 2008 KL trip.) The whole street of Jalan Alor was filled with a whole stretch of hawker stalls selling mostly malaysian food. We were spoilt with so many choices.

All we had to do was to select which stalls we wanted to patronize, find an empty dining table, the stall assistant will hand a menu to us, order our food and drinks from the menu, the food would be served to our table very quickly. As the food were from different stalls, we paid them individually once they served the food.

It was so interesting to see the different stalls selling different food/fruits.

Our favourite must be satay -yummy.

Too bad they dont serve ketupat with the satay, the peanut sauce accompanied the satay was so yummy.

Another favourite was the Penang Char Kway Teow.

We also ordered Rojak, a kind of fruit/vegetable salad.

Coconut juice to drown all the oily and heatiness of the food. A very happy dinner.

Kuala Lumpur - Making my way to Furama Hotel by monorail

After two and half hours by ETS train from Ipoh to Kuala Lumpur, we finally arrived KL Sentral. There's many way to get to Furama Hotel,Bukit Bintang either by taxis, bus or monorail. We choose to take the monorail but there's so much construction going on near KL Sentral so we need to walk out of KL Sentral to the main road to get to the KL Sentral monorail station. In future when the building (I guess could be a shopping mall) next to KL Sentral is completed, we could just walk through the new building to the monorail station instead of walking out to the main road.

It's easy to purchase the monorail's tickets as there's english instructions. We need to alight at Imbi Station which is about ten minutes to Furama Hotel.

Imbi Station is just next to Berjaya Times Square. We walked right into the the Berjaya Times Sqaure Building and after passing the information counter, we turned right to find a short cut to Furama Hotel.

On seeing the money exchange kiosk, we turned left where we could see a door leading to the cargo area where loading and unloading are located.

We could see Furama Hotel from the cargo area of Berjaya Times Square, so we just walked towards the hotel and had to cross a small alley (picture above - arrowed).

The alley is quite short about ten steps but filled with lots of rubbish and quite dirty and smelly. Turn left from this alley.

After turning left, we would see another alley filled with rubbish too and just about ten steps away, turn right where we could see Furama Hotel.

We were not the only hotel guests using this short cut hahaha, lucky we dont have to walk so many times through these alleys. We wanted hotels nearer to Bukit Bintang Monorail Station but could not get any empty rooms.

Furama Hotel do provide free shuttle services to KLCC and Pavilion Shopping Mall, do check with the reception on how to register with them for the free service.

The hotel room is very spacious but the furniture looked quite old.
