Ipoh/KL Trip 2012 - Bye Bye Malaysia
Finally we made our way to the LCCT (low cost carrier terminal), but first we need to take the monorail to KL Sentral from Imbi Monorail Station.
Upon arriving at KL Sentral, we just followed the arrow on the floor to locate the KLIA Transit Ticket Office to get the tickets to board the express train to LCCT. It costs us only RM12.50 but we had to alight at Salak Tinggi Train Station to board the shuttle bus to LCCT.
To board the KLIA train, we just hop to the station next to the KLIA Ticket Office, everything is smooth sailing.
After arriving at Salak Tinggi Train Station, we just followed the signs in the station to board the shuttle bus to LCCT.
Finally after 15 minutes, we arrived at LCCT, there were so many restaurants and eateries that we had our dinner first cause our plane would depart around 8.20 pm only.
After clearing custom and security check, we did some last minutes shopping on titbits and snacks at the many shops in there.
Finally home sweet home after only 1 hour of plane ride from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore. We enjoyed so much on this trip, from starting with the plane, KLIA train, ETS Train, sightseeing and dining, etc. Would make often visits to Malaysia again.

Ipoh/KL Trip - Bye Bye Ipoh
Day 3 of my Ipoh/KL trip, time to say bye bye to Ipoh and head back to Kuala Lumpur. Thought we would miss our train, we were caught by the traffic jam hahaha. Our hotel was so near the railway station, so we thought we leave the hotel at 1.30 pm and can reach the railway station in 5 minutes but there was a minor traffic jam but we still make it to the train station in more than ten minutes despite the short distance of the hotel from the railway station.
Do check your ticket for the train number, as Ipoh is the last/first station, the train will just park at the station, so before boarding the train, check the train number on your ticket against the small screen on the train. The train will only shows the terminal of the train that is Seremban and not KL Sentral, although we are heading to KL Sentral. KL Sentral is somewhere in the middle of the Route between Ipoh and Seremban.
Our seats (arrowed in picture) facing backwards to the direction of Kuala Lumpur, could not manage to get the forward facing seats. But I dont feel the train going backwards cause I pull the window shutter down and plug in my MP3 to listen to some music. The trip back to KL was a bit longer about 2 hours 30 minutes that was why the ticket cost RM25 compared to the earlier train we took from KL to Ipoh that took us 2 hours 15 minutes and the ticket cost me RM35.

Ipoh Trip - Lunch at Pusing Restaurant
After checking out of our hotel, we went to have lunch at Pusing Restaurant which is located just behind French Hotel and surprised to find Tune Hotel just beside Pusing Restaurant.
As there were only two of us, we decided not to order any seafood, so we had sweet and sour pork.
Our favourite sambal kangkong
Claypot tofu with assorted seafood.
The bill RM41.55 which was so cheap, I would have to pay the same amount but in S$ for the same food back in Singapore.

Ipoh Trip - Last minute shopping
Our last day in Ipoh before heading back to Kuala Lumpur, we went to purchase some famous biscuits from Ching Han Guan Biscuit Shop located at 145 Jalan Sultan Iskandar. Very easy to locate the shop, it is near the Lou Wong Tauge Chicken Shop that I posted in earlier post.
Most of the biscuits are handmade and fresh. I ask permission before taking photo of the workstation in the shop.
Their signature biscuit must be these delicious Lotus Meat Floss Biscuit.
As we were walking around we spotted another famous shop selling the delicious salted chicken, we did not get any as we are not into salty food as hubby as high blood pressure.
Spotted this big banner of Funny Mountain, wanted to try their tau huay (bean curd dessert) but they only open at 10.30 am. Perhaps another time when I visit Ipoh again.

Ipoh Trip - Kellie's Castle
Our last destination of our four hours sightseeing in Ipoh is Kellie's Castle.
Need to pay RM5.00 for the admission to the castle.
The unfinished, ruined mansion, was built by a Scottish planter named William Kellie Smith. According to differing accounts, it was either a gift for his wife or a home for his son.
Unfortunately for Smith, tragedies struck soon after the construction of the Kellas House began. A virulent strain of the Spanish flu spread from Europe to Asia soon after World War I ended in Europe, killing many of the workers in the Kellas Estate. Another seventy workers constructing Smith's dream castle also became victims of the flu. Smith, who had already spent a fortune on his house, lost a lot of money because of this.
In the end, Kellas House, later known as Kellie's Folly or Kellie's Castle, was sold to a British company called Harrisons and Crosfield. You can read the full story from source.
It really looked very spooky here and was very windy and I thought I heard something from the top floor. Yikes! Hubby said was the wind that blew something that dropped on the floor lol. Anyway, as I was taking photos of the top floor, I cannot stop imagining someone or something will pop out of the window, guess I watch too much horror movies lol.
The stairs lead to the wine cellar in the basement, you can bet I did not ventured down the stairs hahaha.
It was believed that the spirit of William Kellie Smith was still wandering along the long quiet corridor.
It was really quiet in the empty castle except for the lone sparrow that kept chirping.
The car park at the bottom of the castle, can you spot the red cab (circled) in the above photo? Was the cab that brought us round Ipoh sightseeing, thank you Mr. Cab Driver for bringing us around Ipoh and also thank you for your friendly smile and always being so humourous.
A short video of Kellie's castle and its surrounding area.

Ipoh - Ling Sen Tong
Next to Nan Tian Tong is another cave called Ling Sen Tong. There's a temple in this cave with lots of Statues of Gods.
This must be my favourite, the God Of Fortune that bless good wealth and good fortune to the people.
A powerful god known as Erlang Shen, he has a third eye on his forehead. His third eye is magical and could see invisible things.
This God Statue is known as Yuexia Laoren (月下老人 "Old Man Under the Moon"). He is in charge of marriage and unmarried men and women would worshipped him.
