Day 5 - CHANGSHOU- DAZU - Dazu Rock Carvings.

• The Dazu Stone Carvings. The well-preserved carvings are representative of an ancient Chinese art tradition. They are also a very important position in the religious, artistic and cultural history of China. The largest, richest and most exquisite collection of statues is at the foot of Baoshan Hill.

Listed as a World Heritage Site in 1999, the Dazu Rock Carvings are made up of 75 protected sites containing some 50,000 statues, with over 100,000 Chinese characters forming inscriptions and epigraphs. (Source)
