Vietnam - Hanoi Trip - Day 1 - Meracus Hotel, Hanoi

PLEASE ASK PERMISSION BEFORE YOU RE POST MY PHOTOS ON TO YOUR BLOG. THERE ARE SOME BLOGGERS WHO DID NOT ASK MY PERMISSION AND REPOST MY PHOTOS WITHOUT THE COURTESY OF LINKING BACK TO MY BLOG. THIS IS LIKE STEALING. PEOPLE, I HAVE SPEND MUCH TIME TAKING PHOTOS AND DOING HOMEWORK ON MY TRAVELLING INFORMATION AND KINDLY SHARE THESE INFORMATION TO ANYONE INTERESTED IN THEM. IF NECESSARY I WILL POST SCREEN SHOT OF YOUR BLOG TO SHOW YOUR BAD MANNERS OF STEALING MY PHOTOS. THE MOST DISGUSTING THING THEY DID WAS TO SCREEN SHOT MY PHOTO AND CORP OFF MY BLOG TITLE FROM MY PHOTO AND REPOST THEM IN THEIR BLOG.

After more than three and half hours on Tiger Airlines, we finally arrived in Hanoi, Vietnam. As we had pre booked our hotel online back home in Singapore and had the hotel arranged to pick us up from the airport to the hotel. The pick up cost from airport to the hotel is US$18 for a four seater car.

We decided to stay in Meracus Hotel, a small cozy boutique hotel but with 5 star service. They really took very good care of us and whatever information we needed, they would give us readily.

We were ushered to the beautiful lounge to await for the room keys and in the meantime we had some welcome drinks and towels to freshen up.

We were busy taking photos of the beautiful hotel and the lift was not spared either hahahaha. It was cute to have zodiac signs on the lift's flooring.

As there's three of us, we booked the family room that comes with a queen size bed and a single bed. Take note of the bolster on the queen size bed, hahaha first time I saw bolster in a hotel room.

There's daily complimentary fresh fruits in the room.

The bathroom was huge with flowers everywhere, even in the wash basin. Such a pretty sight.

The room comes with free wireless internet access with a private laptop.

The sweet service staff came up the room with us when we check in and explain everything to us. She even gave us each a map with so much details on the back of the map with a list of museums, shops, restaurants, places of interests, etc. The map was really helpful to us.

You might like to take a closer look at the roads highlighted in pink that are shopping streets while those highlighted in maroon are the walking trail of the old quarters (consists of 36 streets) in hanoi.

Best to get the bigger map with more detailed information from the tourist information centre that's located opposite Hoan Kiem Lake. Look at the map with the "i" in the map.
