Okinawa, Japan Trip 2020 - Day 2 - Fukushen Garden (Travelled in January 2020)
Day 2, after breakfast, we started our day 2 sightseeing. We planned to go to Naminoue Beach. We can take a bus no. 5 from the bus stop near Hotel Gracery to the beach. But we walked past the bus stop without knowing it is a bus stop hahaha. So we ended up walking for 10 minutes from our hotel to Fukushen Garden.
This is how the bus stop looked like. It is just near Hotel Gracery (turn left from the entrance of hotel) and infront of this famous Okinawa local product souvenir shop.
The schedule of the bus timing pasted on the bus stop. We just walked past this bus stop without knowing it is a bus stop hahaha.
Anyway we were glad we missed the bus stop, we walked past the garden and decided to go in and take a look. It is just a small garden.
Fukushen Gardens is a traditional Chinese garden located in the Kumemura area of Naha. Kumemura was synonymous with Chinese culture for centuries, acting as a hub for the Ryukyus, an apt place for such an attraction. It was built in 1992 in celebration of Naha’s appointment as a sister city to Fuzhou, China. It’s constructed almost entirely from materials originating from Fuzhou, and with the help of its artisans
Admission fee is required. It is 200 yen for adult.
The garden is a fusion of Japanese and Chinese designs.
Our visiting the garden, we walked another ten minutes to Naminoue-gu Shrine.
