Day 4 - Chongqing, China Trip 2026 - Changshou Lake and Full Fish Banquet Dinner

  • Visit Changshou Lake. More than 203 islands and islets are distributed in the lake here and there. Stretches of shoals can also be found here. Natural reserves for wild animals have been set up here with 42 different kinds of birds, 28 sorts of waterfowls included, becoming a perfect resort for birds watching.

Changshou Lake is a man made reservoir featuring  about 200 islands when viewed from above, form the chinese character   寿  , symbolizing longevity.
We can see many words with the  寿 carved on rocks and stones.

The Changshou "longevity" man statue and the "harmony" old woman state are traditional representations of the Chinese gods of longevity and immortals of harmony.
We took the tram to go round the park. Since we arrived in Chongqing, this is the hotttest day of our entire trip. Very surprisinly for April weather, the rest of our trip was very cold in Chongqing and Wulong.

As it was too hot to walk and play in the park, we decided to go to the nearby town centre for a walk and some cold drinks while waiting for our dinner at the  restaurant in Changshou Lake.

Oh we did not use any apps (like Ali pay or we chat), we used cash (RMB) for our expenses throughout our trip hahaha.
Finally time for dinner, tonight dinner is a full fish bangquet, where most of the dishes are associated or made from fish ingredients.

Stir fried meat with fish
Fish ball and mushroom
Another stir fried fish with vegetables
Oh I liked  the crispy fried fish, it tasted so cruchy.

Changshou Lake Fish Noodles: A local specialty where the bones are removed from the fish and the flesh is prepared into smooth, tender, low-fat noodles. It's celebrated for its rich broth and stomach-nourishing properties.
Plain porridge, this was so tasty after so many days of oily food.
Fish soup with tofu
Fried omelette

Potato
Steamed fish
Stir fried green vegetables

Our table full of fish dishes.
After dinner, time to check into a new and beautiful hotel.
